The Manchester United team to face Manchester City has been announced.

After a much-needed victory against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night, the pressure eased a little on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer; a defeat against former Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho would surely have meant the pressure from another reverse today would have put his job at risk.

United not only won 2-1 but put in one of their best performances of the season, with Marcus Rashford choosing a good time to put in one of his own career-best performances.

Rashford was far from the only one to put in a good showing. Scott McTominay returned from injury to show everyone what United have been missing from midfield, whilst Fred put in one of his better performances, and at the back, Victor Lindelof looked much more composed than he has done recently.

However, Solskjaer has made two big calls; bringing back Luke Shaw after his rusty recent spell, and also calling Anthony Martial straight into the team following his own spell out with injury.

The team :

De Gea

Wan-Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Shaw

McTominay Fred

James Lingard Rashford

Subs : Romero, Tuanzebe, Williams, Young, Andreas, Mata, Greenwood
